Your use case

What would you like to do?

Invite someone into a public room where I do not have the right to invite.

Why would you like to do it?

This person should also be part of the room and should be informed to join it.

How would you like to achieve it?

Press the invite button.

What is the current problem

Right now it often happens, that I cannot press the invite button even though the room is public. This make me wonder if the person might not be able to join if i cannot invite.

Proposed solution

Instead of hiding the invite flow with a grey button that might make ppl question the public room access, one could hide the invite button and instead add a "share public room" flow. Where the user gets prompted with a ui similar to the message forward modal.

Have you considered any alternatives?

Copy the room name and send it to the person.
