[doc] Example doesn't work - needs to be updated from HTTP to HTTPS

The example doesn't work; I'm not sure if it's because example.com requires HTTPS now or because I have HTTPS required on my side, but regardless, switching the example to use HTTPS matches current best practice (i.e. use HTTPS by default whenever feasible).
