Kickoff Tomorrow! #45
Comments
Hi Jamie,
My name is Patrick and I am geography graduate of UCLA '14, currently
employed as a Sr. Data Analyst in the entertainment technology space. I was
raised in Santa Barbara and recently moved back into town.
I came across https://eco-data-science.github.io/ and seemed like a great
place to wed my data skills with my interest in geography/environmental
studies and collaborate with other like minded individuals.
I see that most events are during M-F planned for this year. Is this group
open to non-student members & does the group ever meet on weeks or at night?

Hi EcoDataScience -
Apologies for all the cross-posting.
A reminder that we are having a Kickoff tomorrow in the UCSB Library
Collaboratory at 11:30. The goal of this meeting is to welcome new folks to
the EcoDataScience group and get feedback about what you would like to see
this year. The first 20 to 30 minutes will be for mingling, followed by a
short presentation about EDS.
Snacks are provided by the Library. If you plan on attending please let
me know here

Hi Patrick! You are welcome to join us but our sessions are during lunch on weekdays. When possible, we do stream the sessions as well. There are plenty of similar data science/coding groups in Santa Barbara, but without an eco focus. I encourage you to check them out on Meetup.com. Hopefully you can join us for some of our sessions this year! |
Hi Jamie,
Thank you for your response. I will keep my eye out for any streaming
sessions your group may post, and hopefully make it to a lunch session.
I will take a closer look into the other groups in town. Have a great night!
