@grantmcdermott has offered to lead a session on setting up a server or virtual machine using Google Compute Engine and then learning how to use it from RStudio Server.

For now we have slotted this for January 19th at Bren. I'll be sure to update closer to the date.

This is a how-to guide for setting up a server or virtual machine (VM) with Google Compute Engine. In addition, I'll also show you how to install RStudio Server on your VM, so that you can perform your analysis in almost exactly the same user environment as you're used to, but now using the full power of cloud-based computation. Trust me, it will be awesome.
