When using AUCTeX in Emacs, lots of colors remain unchanged an look horrible. See screenshot below:

Maybe you could modify the font-latex-highlighting-faces. See also AUCTeX Manual Setion 3.1.5 Faces

FYI: vscode-dark-plus-emacs-theme had the same problem. See this fix.
