Native libraries? or better binding tools?

Whats the status of using native libraries, I know there was some channel solution done aside by @Redth so I am asking why is that not adopted yet, and when will this big problem may be solved :) current binding tools are useless nightmares, and if we can't use libraries done by major players in the industry so we have to reinvent the wheel and work on native!!
