Persistent "Docker 09-26-01-679” will damage your computer. You should move it to the Trash." popup #7542

Description

I have this popup and I can't get rid of it. Any of the options "Move to trash" or "Cancel" in combination with either option of the check box "Report" dismisses the popup for a few seconds and then it reappears.

Image

The pop up appears on top of all other windows, and no window can go over it, so the only way I can use my mac is by moving it out of the way, but it is still visible in the corner of my screen when I do this.

I have tried all the steps suggested in related tickets. #7520 #7531 #7529 #7527

I have deleted Docker, installed the latest patch version, and removed that, but I still get the same popup. I've booted into safe mode and removed all docker files I can find, but when I boot back into normal mode, I still get the popup. (The pop up does not appear in Safe mode).

Note that this is different from the existing issues as my warning says "Docker 09-26-01-679” will damage your computer", not "Docker will damage your computer" or ....vmnetd" will damage your computer".

How do I find this file and remove it?

  2. get warning

docker version

I've had the same issue and tried to reinstall docker for an hour, this fixed my problem: #7531 (comment)

Ah amazing, thanks it seems like "Empty the Trash" was an important step that I had skipped in previous attempts at the variations

Same here. The pop-up keeps showing up no matter what. I tried killing the Docker process via CLI, but it still pops up. Even after completely uninstalling and reinstalling Docker from scratch, the same issue comes back.

When I try to move it to the trash, I get: 'Docker can’t be moved to the trash.'
