Wow, this problem is ubiquitous across the internet, even the Burmese bible society website is missing it. Scans of the original exist. So I've pulled the verse and cleaned it up for the best chance of a good OCR on it.

But until a native speaker is able to review the OCR, I'll keep this issue open and my changes in the sourcetext as \rem
