\macro{bar, hello!}
\include{bar.sub}
\chapter{}
\foo{hi}

bar.sub:

\macro{foo, +++\content}
\chapter{}
\foo(bye}

\bar

This should be equivalent to:

\chapter{}
+++bye

hello!
\chapter{}
― hi
