Deployer doesn't upload my new code

With a new laravel project with deployer, when I run the deploy script, all my code doesn't get uploaded to the release folder. So far what I can see is alot of messages of it not being able to get the env.

bash: line 1: /var/www/html/.env: No such file or directory

This is in the CI, local on my pc and with DDEV.

I'm running the latest deployer v7 version, and this is my deploy workflow:

Why doesn't it upload the files that are in the new branch?
