Moodle 4.5 LTS - Subsections decision #203
Comments
now moodle has built in subsection. it is not the same as the subsection we will have in the onetopic. is there a way to make it compatible? @davidherney The challenge is that it not only need to be compatible with 4.5 but also backward compatible with previous versions. |
Hola @diolwe ... Your problem seems to be an installation error, maybe you are missing files. Did you install manually, from Git or from a Zip? The file [dirroot]/course/format/onetopic/format.php is a standard file that is always in the package. Saludos |
Hola @HananoshikaYomaru ... I'm thinking hard about what to do with the "subsections" - I think I'll probably use them for the second level of tabs, but I need to decide what to do with the courses that already have two levels. All opinions are welcome in making the final decision. Saludos |
@davidherney - could we rename this issue as "Sub-sections", or open a new issue for sub-sections? I've experimented a bit with onetopic and subsections, and am not going to enable them for the time being because it's quite confusing - not a judgement on your plugin, just making a call on whether to activate sub-sections. We could just leave it to the teacher to manage migration of content to subsections. I suppose we could offer an extra section menu item "Migrate to subsection" (a bit like Move) and create a sub-section from a child tab. That would take the burden off any upgrade script to try and figure things out automatically. In any case, site admins will probably need to manage communication for this change. |
It would be wonderful to have Onetopic as a course format on M 4.5 too. At the moment it throws the following error:
If this is a local problem I'd appreciate any hint which PHP module I am possibly missing. Thank you!!
