here's a gist that can help us get started: https://gist.github.com/davidcornu/1171205 the comment doesn't inspire a lot of confidence considering most recordings are at least an hour long.. still worth a try. Eventually, the frontend would use this to make comments at specific timestamps. I know I'm dreaming big here, but it would be cool to have

edit: after some searching I saw this javascript library https://github.com/katspaugh/wavesurfer.js maybe it can be frontend only?
