Hello Librechat team,
Thank you for your incredible work on this platform. I’d like to suggest a feature that would greatly improve the experience for Korean users by adapting the display order of names when using Google Login.
Background
In Korea, it’s common to display names with the family name first, followed by the given name (e.g., Kim Minji rather than Minji Kim). Currently, after Google authentication, names are displayed in the Western format (given name followed by family name), which can cause confusion for Korean users who are more accustomed to seeing family names first.
Suggested Solution
If possible, could an option be added to Librechat’s configuration to enable name display adjustments based on locale? For example:
Implementing a configurable option for admins to select the name display order (e.g., name_order: "family_first").
Alternatively, setting a locale-based rule (when locale=ko_KR, display names as family name + given name).
Benefits
This small adjustment would enhance usability for Korean users and provide a more culturally attuned user experience. Thank you for considering this suggestion.
Best regards,
guwoon
