Interesting. It's not clear to me why no one told me it was being removed.
That library (which, apparently, someone has suddenly decided now uses "nonfree classes") has been deprecated for quite a while, though it still works fine. Replacing it would take time. The app would presumably also need to be resubmitted to F-Droid.
I no longer have the time to do this, unfortunately, though I will always welcome PRs. Regardless, for anyone interested, the app (which is still FOSS) will always be available to download here.
I'm not sure if this project is still maintained, but I'll open an issue nevertheless.
Unfortunately, nasa-imagery-fetcher is no longer available on F-Droid.
https://f-droid.org/en/packages/com.beckhamd.nasaimageryfetcher/ returns a 404 - not found.
It seems the package got kicked out due to the use of
com.evernote:android-job
