Connect to program data

FI$Cal's data includes expenditures by state departments, for specific programs and purposes, from specific funds, on specific expenditure types. FI$Cal's data does not include the results of those expenditures, including clients served, program outcomes achieved, etc.

It would be extremely valuable to connect the expenditure data on Open FI$Cal to program outcome data.

State of California departments post program data on numerous sites, including https://data.ca.gov/, which collects data from many different departments.

Useful activities would include:

• Identify specific sets of expenditures on Open FI$Cal that can be tied to specific state programs
• Identify state programs of interest that publish some kind of outcome data and copy here the location of that data
• Combine the expenditure and program data to produce analyses, visualizations, stories, you name it!
