PHP Versions

Hi,

I have a site which needs PHP 8.2 and although I have selected this from the sites settings (under PHP) when SSH'ing to the server and logging in with the sites SSH credentials, then run "PHP -v", I am getting 8.1.27 - What have I missed?

Thank you - That works correctly and provides the expected version information.

So am I right in thinking that the "default" version of PHP on this site is 8.1.27, yet if I run commands or scripts with PHP8.2 (for example, "PHP8.2 artisan xxx:xxx" rather than just "PHP artisan xxx:xxx" it will use PHP 8.2?

If so, how can I change this as many of my issues with the site is that it runs "PHP artisan xxx:xxx" rather than specifying the version number?

Yes, you always need to use the right version e.g. php8.2 or php8.3.

If you want to use "php" only, you can set PHP to your desired version:

update-alternatives --set php /usr/bin/php8.2

After that, "php" will be a symlink to /usr/bin/php8.2
