I am migrating a php system from apache to nginx, which was redirecting to a sub directory, called start, just fine. I researched on nginx redirection configurations and tried all the different functions. They are all giving me the same result. When I open the url, the redirection configuration causes multiple redirections and never executes.

Good day,
I am migrating a php system from apache to nginx, which was redirecting to a sub directory, called start, just fine. I researched on nginx redirection configurations and tried all the different functions. They are all giving me the same result. When I open the url, the redirection configuration causes multiple redirections and never executes.
This is what I get in the address bar: https://sub.web.com/start/start/start/start/start/start/start/start/start/start/start/start/start/start/start/start/start/start
On cPanel it was easy to create a redirection, perhaps it can be a new feature to give an option to enter redirection rule.
What am I missing?
