Hi!

Are there any plans to audit the changed fields (old and new values) as well? It would be great to see the changed fields including there values in the mail.

Hi, @pierrebayartz!

There's no way to compare to the old value. The add-on is simply leveraging every hook available in the Control Panel to log that something happened. Without knowing what's about to happen, there's no opportunity to capture the previous value.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Isn't it possbile to use a hook like entry_submission_start and entry_submission_end to create something like a delta?

Regards.

In that one case, possibly. But that's not solving for all the things it's tracking and wasn't a scope of detail I'd sought to take on. You'd have to consider every possible fieldtype, how to render "before" data to say what changed, etc. You're looking beyond EE fields and at third-party fieldtypes, because if you're pitching an add-on that shows what changed, customers/users are going to want that to work for anything they throw at it.

If you'd like to tackle that in a fork, by all means feel free to :)
