MISC: Syncing related fixes ('group issue')

As discussed in previous product meetings, I'm making this 'group issue' to pull together all issues that may be related to syncing speeds:

• Test C888: "Authentication required" preventing from entering topic description #364
• TOPICS: 'Read more' missing from preview #1479
• TOPIC: Topic description not updating in Preview #1673

I believe this is all of them, but @ssin1901 @ilmartyrk @DiverVM if you're aware of any others then feel free to edit the list :)

Adding high priority as the 'authentication required' issue in particular is quite a serious one. The others also problematic.

I wonder if these two could also be related, or it's something else?

• MISC: Hitting refresh shows logged-out view for a second #1455
