What is the current bug behavior?

HTML markup is not parse and render as-is on the page.

What is the expected correct behavior?

The HTML markup should be interpreted correctly and render the content accordingly.

Possible fixes

it seems the commit 2b5fdff to update to the GCWeb template remove the following:

markdown: GFM

This probably changed how the markdown is evaluated.
