Predictable Back Button Actions

When in various activities/views, the back button has unpredictable results:

• When sidebar is open, back button doesn't close; leaves app or goes to last activity
• When on SearchActivity, back button doesn't go back to previous activity; closes app
• etc.

I agree, pressing the back button in these cases should take the user back to the page he came from, and not close the app. It would be nice to see this addressed.
