No plans. But I'm certainly open to the idea.

I'd gladly accept pull requests. Otherwise, I'll leave this issue open as a feature request and see if it's something I can get to some day.

Redis would certainly make sense too. There are many Rails apps that already use it, and it's well suited for counters.

this would be great. and the ability to set smaller time frames, like an hour or 10-minute blocks.
