I would like to be able to set tree view to remain collapsed unless I open a folder in Atom.

I regularly open individual files in Atom (often which have nothing to do with each other), and in those cases the tree view just adds visual clutter. It would be excellent to only see it when I am working with more than one file in the same directory. This typically only happens when I open a folder, and in the rare cases where I begin working in a project by opening an individual file instead of the project, I could easily toggle the tree view to become visible. I'm not asking to change default behavior. I just would love for an option to be present.

I am using Atom primarily on OS X, but sometimes on Windows. (Atom 1.3.2 on OS X 10.11.2)

+1, especially with the hover buttons. Would it be difficult to have an option in tree view module to make it never appear on its own in individual files?
