Wondering how I can make the red/blue not disappear when they're "directly" over the top model.

Hi.

Depends on what exactly you want to achieve, but a solution could be to disable depth write for the grey model in the background (material.render_states.write_mask = WriteMask::COLOR) or disable depth test for the coloured models in front (material.render_states.depth_test = DepthTest::Always). Both solutions require that you render the grey model first and then the coloured models. Did that work out for you? Otherwise, you'll need to provide a bit more information about what exactly you want to achieve 🙂

Ultimately, I'm hoping for the sphere to be transparent. That way you can see the origin of the arrows. I'm hoping to visualize the various coordinate transforms I need to make, so transparency will be key to that. I've been messing around with ColorMaterial::new_transparent, and setting the color with an alpha channel. That has been working!
