Right now, the Kanji Timer is an excellent tool to sync timed romaji lines with Kanji lines. It does its goal of combining timings of syllables composing given Kanji into timing for said kanji.
However, it could be improved by adding functionality for keeping individual syllable timing and adding furigana using the multi-highlight syntax
The use case for this would be adapting romaji karaoke subtitles into japanese with furigana subtitles. Currently, I use the Kanji Timer for that use case, but end up spending a lot of time telling the Kanji Timer to map syllables to blank spaces and then entering manually all multi-highlight symbols and the corresponding furigana.
This could be an alternative mode for the Kanji Timer that guesses furigana to output (maybe hard to program) or could be a tool that takes kana timed lines and kanji lines and fuses them using a similar interface to the Kanji Timer (maybe simpler). Since I am not familiar with the internals of Aegisub, it's definitely possible that someone has a better idea on how to design this.
