UI: links are difficult to distinguish from text [hold]

I am not closing this, but pausing it keep it in mind for any future rebranding. IF we shift color schemes in the future, we can apply a more visible color to links then.

So I have to ask - does it have to wait for a change in colour scheme, or could this particular issue be fixed separately?

I realise that the current colour scheme has been around for a while (and was not part of the recent redesign), but surely this issue could be fixed without needing to redesign the entire scheme. As it stands, IMO the scheme is not fit for purpose.

Initially, I was going to wait for the overall style change, but given this should be a fairly straightforward CSS change, and it's important, I think we can do something sooner. @clambertus, I know you were working on something accessibility related, was hyperlink color part of it?

@sebbASF It looks like in-table links are not underlined. Given their proliferation, I am not sure we want to underline them. The project listing on the front page would look pretty cluttered, as one example.

I agree that underlining in tables etc may look cluttered, however that is not the only way to make the links stand out better.
For example, the hue could be changed.

Brian, you are correct. It is an incremental improvement to better distinguish in-line hyperlinks only, as those were the most difficult to read. However, the site employs multiple behaviors for hyperlinks which make for an inconsistent experience throughout the site, which will be fixed in the future planned redesign.

@Paul-TT and I also considered bolding the hyperlinks, but the result wasn't as distinguished as underlining. We also left the hue intact to avoid inconsistencies with the site's current branding (which will also be reconsidered in the future planned redesign).

No, that's still a table, which we have established handles links differently. As I said, for now, this issue is mostly addressed, and we will figure out a solution for all links later.
