Usable without tables?

Hello,
We are using your plugin to resize "toolbar" sidebars in our web app. These sidebars can contain Paramquery (paramquery.com) tables but these cannot be put into tables themselves, this will make several things fail, e.g. the automatic width adjustment of the Paramquery table.
Is your plugin also usable for a collection of DIVs that are not table cells? what would we need to do to achieve this?
