What?

This task is to switch GOV.UK's Production Workloads over to Graviton

Why?

We are already running Integration and Staging on Graviton hardware. It is cheaper and more efficient, and reflects the hardware our developer machines use.

Steps

  • Update Terraform to enable Graviton "ARM" Nodes in Production
  • Update Helm Charts to use arch: arm64 Architecture
  • Tune down x86 runners to minimum numbers
