Announcing Our Rebranding: vx.dev is Now Dewhale

Shortly after the launch of vx.dev, we have come to recognize that while the project name is concise and easy to understand, it also presents certain limitations.

Our first concern involves its association with Vercel v0.dev. The initial version of vx.dev was significantly influenced by v0.dev, and our naming was a nod of respect towards that project. However, as vx.dev evolved, our focus shifted towards developing a versatile AI workflow that leverages the full potential of the GitHub platform, rather than being solely a frontend UI generator. This shift in direction made us realize that continuing with the name vx.dev could potentially mislead our future users.

Another issue is the domain name aspect of vx.dev. While it is a valid domain name, we do not own it. Consequently, when users attempt to visit this domain, they cannot reach the vx.dev project. This disconnect could create inconveniences as we continue to promote our project.

In light of these insights and the growing attention vx.dev has been receiving, we have decided to proactively update our brand identity to avoid larger-scale impacts of a rebranding in the future. We are excited to introduce our new project name: Dewhale!

Dewhale is a fusion of 'develop' and 'whale', echoing the approach of Github's Octocat in creating a likable animal mascot for the project. We chose the whale, a fellow inhabitant of the ocean, to represent our project, symbolizing the depth and breadth of our ambitions in the tech world.

在 vx.dev 发布的几周后，我们发现这个项目名称在简洁易懂之余，也存在一些局限性。

首先是与 Vercel v0.dev 之间的关系。在 vx.dev 的第一个版本的开发过程中，深度参考了 v0.dev 的实现，因此在项目命名中我们也表示了对该项目的尊重。但在后续功能的开发中，vx.dev 的开发方向更多是如何演进为一个充分发挥 Github 平台能力的通用 AI 工作流，而非单一的前端 UI 生成器，因此继续使用 vx.dev 可能会逐渐误导后续的用户。

其次是 vx.dev 这一名称是一个合法的域名，但我们并不拥有该域名，因此当使用者们尝试访问该域名时，实际上无法触达 vx.dev 项目。这可能在持续的传播过程中给我们带来不便。

因此在 vx.dev 逐渐获得一些关注之后，我们决定及早调整我们的品牌形象，避免未来再次调整时更大范围的影响。最终我们选择了新的项目名称：Dewhale！

Dewhale 是 develop 与 whale 组合而来，与 Github 的 Octocat 类似，我们希望创造一种可爱的动物代表这一项目，同样生活在海中的鲸鱼是我们最终的选择，它象征着我们在技术海洋中不断探索的深度与广度。
