XMLTV Component?

(Grabber name or utility)
tv_grab_zz_sdjson

What happened?

For each channel, this script creates a <display-name>39_2</display-name> using "_" (underscore) instead of "-" (hyphen).

What did you expect to happen?

The tv_grab_na_dd script correctly populates a hyphen.

Did you see any warnings/errors?

(Please paste any warnings/errors, if available)
The underscore is not recognized as a proper channel number by Jellyfin, so it will not map channels properly.

What steps are needed to reproduce this issue?

(Please provide the full commands you are running)

  1. Run the script

Please attach your config file below:

Any other information?

(For example, is this a new or intermittent issue?)
I'm not sure whether this is an issue with the way XMLTV populates the information, or a problem with how XMLTV receives the information from Schedules Direct. If the latter, let me know and I'll contact support there.

Update, it does appear to be a formatting issue within XMLTV. I don't know whether the underscore is expected by some applications, so I will create a pull request that simply adds another display-name tag with a hyphenated channel number.

"_", "-", and "." are considered somewhat equivalent for ATSC (as real TV's, and their remotes, use different representations). You should work with the upstream jellyfin to change their support to support all variants.

Thanks. I created a simple PR here that I hope will get implemented. And I've also created an issue on the Jellyfin repo.
