Here are steps that can reproduce this:

  1. In "Advanced Search" search for Windows and the "to year" of 1988 (example)
  2. You will see results from all years before and after 1988.
  3. Add "from year" of 1977 (input validation rule forces this as a lower value) (example)
  4. You will now see results from only 1977 and up to 1988.
