Mic ignoring pactl settings

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

For some reason my mic is super quiet even when the volume is set at 100% my solution has been to use pactl set-source-volume "device_name" +300%.
This makes it possible for people to hear me on Discord, Teamspeak and so on no problems. Dota for some reason ignores these settings making it impossible for anyone to hear me unless i scream into my mic. Interestingly enough if you go into the setting the "voice" tab uses the correct setting while the "in-game voice" doesnt
