Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Describe what you expected should happen and what did happen. Please link any large pastes as a Github Gist.

I played dota 2 on linux with opengl support and everything was fine. When opengl support was removed it automatically starts in Vulkan and my whole pc becomes unresponsive during games. Yesterday I noticed that this happend in team fights, but unfortunately not in every team fight. I tried switching to different linux distro's, but it happens on a Manjaro (gnome) fresh install, a Linux Mint (XFCE) install and Fedora (gnome) install. In all cases I have the proprietary Nvidia drivers installed. After hard reboot from the system I can log back into dota, but in a few minutes it crashes again. I tried the native steam app and the flatpak app with the linux version of dota 2 (proton version exits directly after loading screen). My pc doesn´t crash on other games like The Witcher 3 and portal 2.

Will try later this week if the downloaded shaders (I think under openGL) are the problem, so if not starting dota with downloaded shaders will solve the issue.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Play a dota 2 game on linux with the native steam app and wait for the team fight(s) to happen. Unfortunately it isn´t always in the first or second team fight, sometimes ingame the game will run fine for half an hour.

Same problem since 2017-2018 years, tested on debian(gnome, xfce, lxde, lxqt, etc), ubuntu(kubuntu, xubuntu.etc), mint, arch, manjaro, centos, fedora with radv and amdvlk.

Tested it yesterday, removed all downloaded shaders and that doesn't do the trick. I.e. I still have crashing games (also on bot-games).
