Charge to 50%

I'm glad this community exists! I already have a silly question after installing the firmware: Would it make any sense to implement an optional feature to stop the charging of the console after it has reached 50% battery? This would be useful for those who only play occasionally and don't want the lithium-ion battery to suffer from 0% or 100% charge.

What you mean with "don't want the lithium-ion battery to suffer from 0% or 100% charge"? there no known problem on having it at 0% or 100%, thats a myth... eventually, your phone will drop to 99%, even if you aren't using it, and your battery will begin “trickle-charging”. This means your battery will repeatedly bring your phone back up to 100%, and this process doesn't degrade your battery life.

Thanks for the comment! I opened an issue with a source backing up the "myth": #556. Hope it clears things out! Forgot to close this one after creating that issue so I'll do that now. My apologies! 🙇

Yeah, I don't think that's a myth @TriForceX; I believe lithium batteries really do degrade more quickly when fully charged or discharged.

I don't think it's quite as big of a deal as some people make it out to be, but there's a reason that Apple, Samsung, Tesla, etc. all have either options or automatic behaviors to not always charge straight to 100%.

well true, ive just talked from my own experience, but yea many things are involved, specially with this kind of devices...
