The new fiber laser needs setting up. Ask Ase for more information.

  • The door of the enclosure doesnt close all the way, as part of the hinge makes contact with the top of the enclosure. Trim off some to make it fit.
  • The laser unit itself should be moved outside of the enclosure
  • Mount a web cam (endoscope style camera is there connected tothe laptop, see if that works) inside the enclosure so the laser operation can be easily and safely monitored
  • Connect a switch to turn off the laser when the door is opened. Found a switch already, and it's on the enclosure. Does anyone know where to connect it? Does the laser have pins for it somewhere or does it need to go through the computer?
  • Install usb driver on the laptop so that the lightburn software can connect to the laser. (I tried to do this, but couldnt install the driver. Might be related to the ancient win10 version, so lets try again after some cumulative updates)
  • Install a fan to the back of the enclosure (hole is there already) to remove fumes. Maybe use the fan that was included in the kit, which is attached to the green thing on top of the enclosure.
  • Does the enclosure need to be sealed better?
  • Create a "user manual" and attach it to the door of the enclosure. Needs to emphasize safety.
  • Print a sign to encourage and remind people to take part in the funding of the laser by paying some amount (10€ -100€?) in the "izettle -> funding -> fiber laser" (or whatever the path will be).

Door closes much better now (just adjusted the hinges a bit)
Laser module moved outside of the cabinet.
The now larger hole could use some extra cover.
New AIO machine next to the laser. Lightburn installed but having some problems with the drivers...

More todo points
Extension cord with a switch (important for the fan)
Add a magnet to the door to better keep it closed
Add some gasket to the door (not too much, we still need to get some airflow through the box)
Better seal for the opening where all the cables come out
Extension usb for the rotational axis (and test how it works)

Calibrate: https://youtu.be/x08cRPkyToc (arno did this today)

Design a nice "Tampere Hacklab" business card :)

And the box could use some led lights
