Hi, there have been many issue communications regarding
s.youtube.com
being blocked by default. I understand that this is awontfix
, which has been explained multiple times. For me, it was relatively easy to figure out why my YouTube history stopped working after the DNS change (only on my iOS devices) and how to fix it. However, I’m fairly certain that for many beginners, this could be a reason to either completely remove the blocklist or switch to another one (something like OISD big, which works out of the box). It could also cause frustration because the connection between the blocklist and the YouTube history might not be obvious to everyone.
Since this is a high-quality, multi-source blocklist, I find it somewhat disadvantageous that this could be a major reason for users to avoid it. In my opinion, blocking
s.youtube.com
removes an important part of functionality, and I think it’s worth considering overruling the sourcesomeonewhocares.org
. While it’s a highly reputable, trusted source, I believe this specific case merits an exception.I hope this post doesn’t come across as pretentious—it’s not meant that way. I just think it’s worth considering that breaking such a key feature of one of the most popular websites might push some users to look elsewhere.
