Shopify update rollout causing malfunction of Splide

Hi there,
Yesterday Shopify apparently rolled out a big update and that causes problems with some libraries, including Splidejs. None of the Splide elements are visible, nor can you interact with it. The library is not being loaded correctly.
I am noticing two big errors in the console:

Uncaught SyntaxError: Identifier 't' has already been declared
    at splide.min.js:1:1

and

Uncaught ReferenceError: Splide is not defined
    at HTMLDocument.<anonymous> (splide.custom.js:6:9)

which refers to
new Splide( elms[i], {

Does anyone experience this is as well in their Shopify theme when Splidejs is being used?
I prefer to fix the Splide library than to replace it with an alternative library.

Shopify enrolled a new update today which resolved the issue.
