I believe this will take care of a huge proportion of self hosted podcasts and if it's tied to a category on WordPress it should be 100% easy. It will need a Hive name and a posting key and I'm also thinking of a way to ask for authorization within Hive.
Whilst I think it would be a good thing for Castopod or other WordPress based podcast solutions to ping Hive directly, a lightweight stand alone Hive plug-in might be better for right now.
They already have a full infrastructure and website backend. I still publish my podcasts via WordPress but I have to say I barely blog there any more because I just prefer to put content straight into Hive. Long after I'm dead and gone and brianoflondon.me is an anime porn site, Hive will still be going in some form or other I believe!
