What's the problem of not having this feature?
I would like to request the inclusion of futures (and options) expiration dates. This vital data is readily accessible in Bloomberg Terminals and even for free via getFuturesExpirations of OnDemand by Barchart.com but I don't know of a complete solution for OpenBB.

Describe the solution you would like
The best solution for this would be to include it in a complete economic calendar like those I still use as alternative which list all other events with significant economic impact, as well.

Describe alternatives you've considered
Double-checking with Investing.com or CME is a work-around considered time-consuming and error-prone.

Additional information
I continue to be impressed by this project and had a hard time not finding such a rather elementary feature already being available. I apologise in advance if it's still just me not having found it.

Hi there, the economic calendar returns data directly from providers, so this would not work here. Calendars specific to markets would be added where the related functions live, derivatives.futures and derivatives.options.

The economic calendar, specifically, is for macroeconomic events and not trading and market-related events.

Combining various calendars into a single interactive object is suitable for a frontend process that allows users to integrate whichever items they want. Example would be wrapping as a Plotly Dash app.

Also a consideration is that BarChart does not have free APIs.

Thanks for your reply, I understand there are loads of concepts for me to learn about OpenBB.
When I was informed that "Metadata like expiration dates are included for free alongside futures price data" I may have been too optimistic as this could have only implied this metadata will be included in paid services without entailing further costs.
