Yeah, I never got sent a welcome email with the link to verify

Ah, yeah I didn't hook up my email server yet. I think for a test server it might be sufficient to disable email verification.

It looks like email is provided on Hetzner, it might be useful to make sure that's working in deployment, too, no?

It depends on how much this test server is intended to test, I suppose.
