Identical split_ncvars and split_ncvars.pl get created from installation of fre-nctools 2024.05.01

Describe the bug
Not sure if this would actually be considered a bug since it doesn't seem to do anything problematic. The installation of fre-nctools 2024.05.01 creates identical split_ncvars and split_ncvars.pl scripts. That seems unnecessary, so preventing one of them from being created probably would be a reasonable cleanup. For comparison, previous fre-nctools versions have split_ncvars.pl, not split_ncvars.

To Reproduce
Run "diff split_ncvars split_ncvars.pl" in the installation bin directory to show that they are identical.

Expected behavior
There probably should be just split_ncvars or just split_ncvars.pl in the installation bin directory, not both.

System Environment
This issue does not seem particular to the compiler version or the versions of the support packages.
