How to use "prio" with a range

mpc prio <position/range> ...

single(numerous) postilions works fine, but cannot get a range to work start:end, start-end and enclosing in quotes makes no difference.

Whatever tried I get "Failed to parse number". Not sure range is working with this option or my input needs changing?
