The HPC mirroring is entirely using sr3 in both C and python. As they are the primary client for the C bindings the version 2 ones are legacy. As problems with the mirroring were worked through, improvements have made the version 3 C bindings drift away from compatibility with v2.

MetPX/sarrac#156

Please use metpx-sr3 (python) and metpx-sr3c (C) toolchains instead.
