Flatpak of Protontricks (latest) on Ubuntu 24.10 crashes after the main game selection window. After clicking OK on that main window, starts a very long loading phase and the Protontricks window closes. This is also confusing (as the window closes) whether the app is still running or not (the hdd works intense).
Output (window pops up) after this long time of loading:
/home/tux/.var/app/com.github.Matoking.protontricks/cache/protontricks/proton/Proton 9.0/bin/wine cmd.exe /c echo '%AppData%' returned empty string, error message "steam-runtime-launch-client[2006]: W: The --socket option is deprecated. Prefer to use the session bus.
/bin/bash: /usr/lib/pressure-vessel/overrides/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libtinfo.so.6: no version information available (required by /bin/bash)
wine: using kernel write watches, use_kernel_writewatch 1.
esync: up and running.
wine: using kernel write watches, use_kernel_writewatch 1.
wine: using kernel write watches, use_kernel_writewatch 1.
wine: could not load kernel32.dll, status c0000135"
Then nothing. Protontricks is just "gone".
A snap package would be so handy to install from App Center for Ubuntu users. Installing Flatpak support is cumbersome in itself for normal users who want to game titles that require Protontricks / Winetricks.
