publish git-tags for releases

please push tags corresponding to your releases, distro packagers [1] will have a better life ;)
#184 seems to have had this in mind, yet there no tags since 3.5y

Sure, that should really be there. :P Might as well create proper releases when I'm at it. Hopefully in the next few days I should be able to get to it. :)

a git push --tags or similar from your CLI would suffice (or use the designated make target)
