Hi.
Maybe (probably) it is me but...
Android, v3.7.1 build 32 here.
Basically, coming from "Phonograph" as my daily non-streaming audio player.
How does this thing work for the most basic "workflows", i.e.
add a song from e.g. the local / downloaded library to the (empty) queue and then start playing the queue
resume the queue after the app has been closed
add a single song from e.g. local / downloaded to the queue but NOT all downloaded stuff?
play a single song immediately (with empty queue) from local / downloaded library?
add/remove a bunch of selected (ticked) songs to a queue (or delete them or...)
A bit more detailed:
I start the app, nothing is playing.
I would like to go to the most recent queue and resume where I closed the app. How to do this?
I can't find a "queue" button/ribbon tab anywhere. Also, I can't see nor "pull up" or "open" the player. Neither seems to exist at this stage.
So I head into the "Library" (you call it this?) where I have Playlist/Local/Downlaods/Artists/Albums. Select "Local". Select the "Downloads" folder (*1) and see the songs I have downloaded.
I want to play one particular song, so I hit the "play" button on that song's cover art. Player starts this song. Now I pull up the player and check the queue from there. Queue now lists ALL songs from that "Downloads" folder. I wanted ONE only! WTF....
Okay, let's clear the queue then. Press "Clear all" and the queue is empty, player stops.
Close the player. Back to Library / local / downloads.
On one of the songs, press [...] next to the song and select "add to queue". Toast comes up saying it has been added... but where to? Again: I can't see/access no "queue" nor a player at this point
Okay, on another song, [...] and then "play next". Toast comes up saying this song will be next. But again, no player, no queue.
Stuck in a loop here... I either have no queue and no player, or ALL songs from the downloads folder in the queue (from where I can then remove them one by one) (*2)
Am I stupid, not getting the concept of this player/queue approach, or is it just "broken" in such basic things?
Notes / Features I miss:
(*1): Local downloads are all in one place, no subfolders for artists/albums? Okay, there the filter/search field, but having some "group by artist, album, genre" pre-sets via single buttons would be nice
(*2): In a folder / song list / the queue, I would expect to be able to tick-mark-select individual songs (like with tickbox in front, maybe after long-press on one as is done in may file managers) and then batch-execute a command like "add to queue" or "remove from queue" or "download" or "delete" on all selected songs, albums, whatever the context is. "Multi-Select" concept, you know...
Appreciated if someone could push me in the right direction. confused
