Checklist

  • This feature I'm requesting is already implemented in yt-dlp.
  • This feature is merely a UI/UX update.
  • This feature is suitable for primary users with little knowledge about yt-dlp.
  • This feature is available for most websites, not only the video platform I use.
  • This feature is suitable for a large variety of videos.
  • This feature is not going to conflict with many of the existing options.

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

When downloading individual music videos from seal, they all appear as individual albums in my music app, which is extremely unhelpful.

Describe the solution you'd like

When proper album information is not available, either leaving the field blank or using the original source (eg. "Youtube") would make more sense.

Any video without album information

Additional context

No idea if this comes from yt-dlp or from your ride so I thought I'd start here.

Also, I know this was already discussed here but I urge you to reconsider. Having each video appear as its own album is really counter-productive.
