Insert in repeat #222

I'm trying to copy an instance document in a repeat, but only the root element is copied. In the XForms equivalent, the whole tree is copied, not just the containing element. In the form below, I want this to be copied:

<df>
    <tag>245</tag>
    <ind1></ind1>
    <ind2></ind2>
    <sfs>
        <sf>
            <code>a</code>
            <value></value>
        </sf>
    </sfs>
</df>

but only <df/> is copied.

In XSLTForms, with

<xf:repeat ref="instance('desc')/df">
  <xf:input ref="tag"/>
  <xf:trigger> 
    <xf:label>+</xf:label>       
    <xf:insert ref="." ev:event="DOMActivate"/>
  </xf:trigger>
</xf:repeat>

the whole structure is copied.
