[BUG] Date/Time picker not inuitive

Describe the bug
I got some complains that the date/time picker is not usable for earlier dates.
Mostly from older person, which did not know that you can click on the month and than year to switch through the years.

To Reproduce
Forget that you can click/touch the month and than year to select a year.
Input a date like 1970/1/1.

Expected behavior
A better highlighting or marker that the month/year is a clickable button. Maybe arrows for months and years.

Simple hover color should fix that right?

No, this is no solutions as there is no hover on mobile phones or tablets.

So I asked an UX designer in my company and she suggested that there should be research done, how other designers solved this problem and thankfully she gave two suggestions:
Either mark it as buttons:

Or add some icon like an pen for an edit:
