This may need some thought at the web-based UI level, but ultimately we will want the end user analytics to be able to simultaneously connect to multiple data sources. For example, down the road a user may want to configure an analytic to directly connect to a historian for near real-time data (like SCADA breaker state) as well as streaming synchrophasor data.
Right now the the openECA "Server" component will allow multiple connections to be proxied through one source - but ideally, especially as ASP project takes flight, the server side proxy can become an optional component.
